This article contains information on resolving error when the license file is not recognized by License Management Console or License Server.

Symptoms or Error

The following are the symptoms:

  • License not visible on License Management Console (LMC).

  • Unable to establish a connection.

  • License Server returns error "unknown host".

Background

  • Citrix requires customers to use License Administration Console version 11.9 or higher in order for the reallocated license file to be compatible with the license server software.

  • If the company is not ready to upgrade, do not reallocate any licenses. License reallocation will not be an option until a software upgrade of your license server is completed.


Solution

To resolve this error, upgrade your license server software to the latest version.??????

Problem Cause

The following are the possible causes for the issue:
  • License server name spelled incorrectly during allocation process (license server name is case sensitive).

  • License server is not running the current version.

  • Multiple separate license files installed on the license server conflict.
